MIAD seeks to complete the build-out of our campus to accommodate the college’s growth and deepen our connection to Greater Milwaukee through strategic partnerships and service.
We are honored to introduce the new Lubar Centers for Innovation and Emerging Technology. These Centers benefit MIAD students’ professional growth through entrepreneurial spirit and creative technology application, while serving as design thinking hubs for companies and organizations.
LUBAR INNOVATION CENTER
connects businesses, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs with our talented students on a variety of projects, from branding/logo design, illustration, animation, video production, interaction design, augmented and virtual reality, and more.
LUBAR EMERGING TECHNOLOGY CENTER
connects businesses, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs with our talented students on a variety of projects, from branding/logo design, illustration, animation, video production, interaction design, augmented and virtual reality, and more.
EQUITY & INCLUSION CENTER
supports campus-wide efforts to live the college’s value of inclusion. It provides leadership development opportunities, social experiences and academic support to students, with an emphasis on serving BIPOC students.
The center also supports employees’ efforts to increase inclusive teaching and learning practices, and offers a variety of trainings and events to raise cultural awareness and appreciation for persons of diverse backgrounds.
When Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport needed to freshen up the map thousands of passengers use daily, they turned to the Lubar Innovation Center. Sophie Yufa worked with the airport to redesign the map used in the city’s most- visited building.
“I’m passionate about graphic design. I love organizing information and designing with purpose…. Working with the Milwaukee Airport was an amazing experience that taught me so much about how I communicate with my clients and which questions are the right ones to ask, as well as having confidence in the work I’m putting out.”
MIAD COMMUNITY AUDITORIUM & GALLERY
serves as a multi-use space providing convenient access for Milwaukee and MIAD community members to gather for educational programming and to learn from both internationally renowned and local creatives.
MIAD’S ADMISSIONS CENTER AND LOBBY
will relocate to the first floor to provide an expanded, welcoming and informative entryway to the promise of MIAD’s award-winning academic programs and career preparation, and to the college’s community programs and services.
